Smooth, musical opto compression.
The 409 brings the natural gain reduction of analogue optical compressors into your DAW. Use it for gentle, transparent levelling, or push it into firm, deep-cutting limiting. Drums, vocals, bass or the whole mix: it stays musical.
Like our 925 Compressor, the 409 is built with physical modelling. It recreates how a classic optical element reacts to your signal, then adds the controls a hardware opto never had.
Why the 409
- Opto character, modelled: smooth, program-dependent compression with a feedback compressor/limiter design
- Shape the detector: Damping smooths the detector response, Skew fine-tunes it
- A Ratio you can tune: a continuous dial instead of fixed steps, so you set the slope exactly
- Wide timing range: Attack up to 200 ms, Release up to 787 ms
