Our preferred main-mix compressor.
925 Compressor MkII is the second generation of our preferred main-mix compressor. Like the 409 Opto Compressor, it is designed with physical modelling, and its character comes from a sidechain detection stage based on the analogue envelope detector circuit.
Why the 925
- Natural compression: a fast detector that follows the waveform itself, with logarithmic gain reduction, like vintage and modern hardware
- Handles transients: variable knee lets you compress percussion, samples and vocals harder without losing life
- Two characters: Slope and Ratio modes change the compression curve and the whole dynamic response
- Damping: smooth and fine-tune the detector for greater control of the envelope
- More in MkII: sidechain filtering, band compression, Dry/Wet control and 29 carefully tuned presets
At home on the main mix, but just as strong on buses and individual channels.
