Description

Dynamic EQ with analogue soul.

The 590 is a 5-band dynamic EQ built around MIA’s envelope detector, modelled on the analogue envelope detector circuit. Each band can compress or expand in parallel, with double precision processing and optional 4x oversampling.

Why the 590

  • Smooth, controllable dynamics: the same feedback-topology detector as our 925 and 409 compressors, with attack up to 200 ms and release up to 2,000 ms
  • Subtle or aggressive: switch between Slope and Ratio modes
  • Colour from the Musiqual series: bands 1 and 2 use Musiqual Red (tube, pushes sounds back), bands 3 to 5 use Musiqual Blue (Class A, brings sounds forward), for natural separation between lows and highs
  • Triode distortion: the harmonic drive of a tube amp pushed hot, without extra gain stages
  • Fast workflow: preset browser, undo and redo, A/B compare, MIA presets and your own presets shared across instances
